The first pop-up Tulip Day in New York.

What took 6 months came to a beautiful end on Sunday, April 7th, 2024. The first pop-up Tulip Day in New York. A meticulous cooperation managed by the NLClub between the European Union, Royal Anthos (Dutch bulb growers), The Dutch Consulate, and of course New York City – led to 23,000+ New Yorkers visiting Union Square. The press also showed: NBC, CBS, PIX11, NY1, 1010WINS, CNN, NYTimes and the NY POST to name just a few.

More than 200,000 tulips were presented in Tulip Garden with 14 variations in about 18 colors.

A special new variation; Tulipa FUTURE400 was presented to First Deputy Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez–Rosa by Dutch General Consul Ahmed Dadou. This Tulip commemorates the past 400 years of friendship between Holland and the US, but also signifies the next 400 years.

This event could not have happened without the generous support of the European Union. Special thanks go to Casey Jr. and his team of Holland Ridge Farm, N.J. and Bloomia, VA., who delivered the tulips without a cinch. Gratitude also goes to Zwanette Bruggink of the Dutch Consulate, Jan Kapiteijn (or Kapitein Jan) and Mark-Jan Terwindt from Anthos, Nadine Grindell and the Darling PR and Social Media team, and last but not least Katherine Vos van Liempt and Jeroen Bours of the NLClub.
